SOMERSAND — REFUND & RETURNS POLICY

1. Our Creative Standard
At Somersand, we construct premium apparel engineered at the intersection of fine art, digital culture, and minimalist luxury. Because our brand operates on a dual-tier model, consisting of ultra-limited artist collaborations, 1-of-1 physical auction masterpieces, and our premium plain essentials, our return parameters vary depending on the nature of the garment purchased. This policy is designed to protect the integrity of our artists’ work, manage our limited inventory, and ensure absolute fairness across our community.
2. General Return & Refund Framework
Due to the exclusive and highly scarce nature of our specialty releases, our return policies are strictly enforced based on the collection tier your item belongs to:

Artist Collaborations & Limited Drops: All sales are final. We do not offer returns, refunds, or cancellations for a change of mind, buyer’s remorse, or incorrect size selection.

Live Auctions: All winning bids on original, 1-of-1 physical masterpieces are strictly final sale. No returns or refunds are permitted under any circumstance unless a structural transit defect is proven.

Plain Essentials Collection: Our plain, foundational garments are eligible for size exchanges or store credit if you require a different fit, provided the item is returned in pristine condition and the desired size is actively in stock.
3. Eligibility Criteria for Verification
To qualify for any return, exchange, or defect evaluation, you must strictly satisfy the following conditions:

The garment must be completely unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and free of any odors, fragrances, or cosmetic stains.

The garment must be returned in its original premium Somersand packaging with all designer tags, numbers, and labels completely intact and attached.

Proof of purchase (your Shopify order number and confirmation email) must accompany the request.
4. Non-Returnable Items
Under no circumstances will Somersand accept returns, process size swaps, or issue refunds for:

Any garment that has had its structural tags detached or original premium packaging discarded.

Items showing any signs of wear, laundering, or damage incurred after delivery.

Items from our limited artist drops where the customer ordered the incorrect size (detailed measurement charts are provided on every product page prior to drops to prevent this).
5. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Garments
In the rare event that a piece from any collection arrives damaged or we mispackaged your order, we will resolve the issue immediately at no extra cost to you.

The Process: Email us within 7 days of delivery. You must include your order number along with clear, high-resolution photographs or a short video detailing the structural defect or incorrect item.

The Resolution: Once verified by our team, we will provide a prepaid shipping label to return the piece. Upon receiving and inspecting the item at our Kempton Park headquarters, we will process a replacement if inventory allows or issue a full refund to your original payment method.
6. The Exchange Framework (Art vs. Essentials)
Because our product lines operate differently, physical exchanges are processed under two distinct structures:

Artist Collabs & Limited Drops: Direct size exchanges are technically impossible as these collections sell out entirely. If an art piece arrives defective and a replacement is out of stock, a full financial refund or store credit will be issued.

Plain Essentials: If you purchased a piece from our standard, plain essentials range and require a different fit, we will gladly process a size exchange within 7 days of delivery, subject to warehouse stock availability. For standard size swaps on essentials, the customer is responsible for return shipping logistics.
7. Logistics & Return Shipping Costs

Our Responsibility: If a return is required due to a manufacturing defect or a logistical error on our part, Somersand will cover 100% of the return courier fees and coordinate the collection.

Unverified Returns: Any return packages sent to our headquarters without prior written approval from our support team will be automatically rejected and returned to the sender at their own expense.
8. Refund Processing Timelines
Once an approved return is received and passes our quality control inspection:

The refund will be executed directly back to your original payment gateway.

Funds typically take 3 to 10 business days to reflect in your account, dictated entirely by the processing speeds of South African banking institutions.

You will receive an automated electronic receipt the moment the refund is authorized from our Shopify portal.
